Our society values conformity more than rebllion today because all thats on television is about following the crowd, wearing whats in style, and finally its all about what the society wants to see.Yes it is depending where you are in life cause all of america isnt like that its all that america wants you to be like. So where you grow up depends on how you react to conformity.

Our society value at lot on conformity. Many people are dependents who obviously do not go against what society is at in their time in life. For example, fashion is often duplicated. People like to follow the trend that goes around.

Society today values conformity. Its conformity because of all of trend and people are determined to fit and follow the crowd. But there is also some rebellion. The rebellion would be for the people who are determined to break rules and laws.

I believe that our society today does put more value on conformity, especially from those in their teenage years. They are expected or feel that they are pressured by their peers to act and dress the same and conform to the social norms of their everyday life. Whether its at home, work, or in school people see the need to conform or else they are seen as the outcasts. It is different, in a sense, for older adolescents and adults because they have had the time to figure out who they are and have wised up over their years of maturing. They know what and who they are and where they are headed and have been but it seems to me that all teenagers are worried about is conformity. On the other hand though, teenagers also rebel to conform. Their peers deem them cool when they want to act out towards their elders so more people conform to this storeotype that its cool, just so they can be accepted and that I belive is a major issue with our generation today.

In our society conformity is of higher value than that of rebellion. The ways in which we dress, speak, and prensent ourselves are most commonly affected by the current "fad". In more cases than not, the glam life of a celebrity is the focus of the shift in wardrobe or speaking pattern of a large portions of a our society.

Our society favors conformity and it's no surprise since our country was built on it. People in our society are expected to follow traditional ways of living the American dream which comes with a white picket fence, dog, mother, and father. When someone goes against tradition they are, in a sense, done like Hester and held on a scaffold to be ostrasized. Our pledge, money, as well as other historical documents make it known that we are under God's law justifying why people are shunned for being themselves. I do believe that it is different depending on where you are in your life. If a young man is going through a phase where he wants to tattoo and pierce his body he is shunned but when he joins the army and gets a wife he is accepted as the American symbol to become. Our society is still in the mindset of the Pilgrims and if you are not a pure, white picket fence American you will be hung.

Our society is more conformity then rebellion due all of the styles and trends in the world that people chose to follow. It happens no matter what age you are you want to fit in. Because nobody wants to be an outsider.

I believe our society values a little bit of both rebellion and conformity. Today in the world everyone is concerned with following the latest trends, fitting in, and many other things. All of these things explain how society values conformity. Everybody thinks of how much they want to be like somebody else, but at the same time you have those people who rebel against the status quo and go their own way. Rebellion is valued through things from culture to religion. I think that it is differnt depending on where you are in life because of the different things you value throughout your life. For example, when I was a little girl I always followed everything celebrities did in life, but as a I have grown and matured I feel that I have rebelled against the status quo and have started doing what I want instead. That is what I think of whether rebellion or comformity are valued in society.

Ladies and gentlemen, I hate to disagree, but... while teens are like lemmings in following fashion trends, don't we as a society value that trend setter more? It's a risky proposition, because if no one follows you it is easy to go from potential trendsetter to outcast, but if you are followed you become a star. Do we want the conformist musician who sounds like everyone else? And why do so many teens who rebel look and act the same as their rebellious peers? Just some food for thought...

Rebellion and conformity? Well in some ways some "clix" like emo or goths(and I'm not trying be mean when I say this either)are just examples of a paradox rebllion/comformity. They say they're rebelling, but if you look at them they all wear the samething and do the samething to be different from everyone else around them. But isn't that just conformity itself? Some say yes some say no, it really depends on who you are and what you think is right or wrong. So to answer the question society values both rebellion and conformity. You cannot either one of them without other. It's like good and evil or peace and chaos. No one cannot live without them in thier life. It's all human nature in a way if you think about it.

Our society values rebellion before it values conformity. But it also see itself as conforming. Reasons for it being this is because in todays world you see people doing all these different things like how they dress, what their orientation is, or how they break the laws. Because pretty much noone likes to listen to the government because they say that they wrong and that they want to do their own thing. Also isn't when you rebel and do what your other fellow rebels does isnt that conforming to what they do? But in a way they conform into what they do and just stay with it. Like if you are a high class person or someone with standards, you will conform and with them and dress like they dress, act how they act and so on.

I believe that our society values both rebellion and conformity. It values conformity in many ways such as everyone trying to fit in and trying to be like the next person. But at the same time you have those few individuals that prefer to be different from everyone else which is an act of rebelling against conformity. Also, I do believe that it depends on where you are in your life. Everyone knows that the younger you are, such as in your teen years, you want to fit in with the crowd but as you grow older you mature and see that its best to be yourself and do your own thing.

i think our society is toward comformity than rebellion. If you see someone popular on tv or if a new song comes out on the radio, most would probably try to fit in at school by wearing those types of things even if it isnt comfortable to them.

I think our society value conformity more because everybody depends on it, but then again just about everybody value rebellion just as much as they value conformity because everybody is trying to find themselves, but at the same everybody is trying to fit in with the next person, nobody is being their self.

Our society is more rebellious. Most people are fighting back and doing the most crazy and unthinkable things. Such as people doing whayt they want to do and not following laws.. also the society is conformity because the way we dress and carry ourself now of days is very awkward people on TV have a big influence on society

In Today's Society I believe that there's only a culture of "Conformity". Why? Because everyone today is following trends no matter what they are, these actions would then be traced back to conformity. Most people today are infatuated with conformity even though they are oblivious to the fact that they are following conformity, so in my opinion yes we today in society follow conformity.

In my honest and completely unprofessional opinion, I think our society values both the conformist and the rebel equally, but in different respects. How will the conformist be able to conform without the rebel there to cause people to conform?
I do not believe that there is a certain point in life to where we should be rebels or conformists, but more of a time and place. At school, we need to conform and do what everyone asks of us so that we may learn what we need to and graduate. Outside of school, we need to be rebels and do what we want, so that we will not succumb to peer pressure and all of the negative things connected to it. In the household, we need to conform to what our parents tell us to do and listen because they are our superiors. In conclusion, I am saying that rebels and conformists have their place in society.

In my prespective i would say that the society today gives into more conformity everyday. Like the teens in high school follow one another everyday. Say for instance, like the well known teens or as we like to say; the "popular" would come up with a saying, the next week everybody's saying it. Needless to say the clothes we wear. But then again, there's other people who like to rebel against all the people who are alike and do and wear stuff that's different. I believe that where you are has a lot to do with whether or not we would try to all fit in or rebel. There's some high schools where you own style and being is well beyond accepted :).

I meant where YOUR own style and being is well beyond accepted.

I would have to say our society most definately value both conformity and rebellion. It's true that there are a mass amount of advertisements that encourage people to ban together and follow the crowd, but weather you do so is depicted on where you stand in society. If you are from a less fortunate community in my opinon you are most likely to rebel, simply because you wouldn't have the means to keep up with the crowd. So the chances of you conforming or rebelling is based on your social staus.

There are times to conform and rebel in society. It is very useful to conform if you want to remain under the radar. One should rebel when something just isnt logical such as hiding under ones desk in the event of a nuclear bomb. rebellion can also be used for fun when you arent so happy. and conforming when you dont know what else to do.

Well i think our society value conformity more because it seems like some people have yet to find their purpose in life or their own identity. Everybody in general want to try and fit in with the crowd instead of doing their own thing. But then again we kind value rebellion also because some people stand on their own and don't care what others think or do.

I have come to the conclusion that our society does what is convenient for them at the time. Some of us know that when were around a certain crowd we tend to adapt to the things that they do. That's why I would say our society Values conformity. On the other hand these days I see many people who are stepping out and trying to voice their opinions on things. Not necessarily Rebellion but its not giving in to the way society thinks you should live either.

I say our society holds a little bit of both , i think it mainly depends on who you are . Some people might believe that being like everyone else is what they need too do in order to stay in the "in-crowd". Others may think that they should rebell from everyone else and be their own individual .

I believe our society is based on conformity. Most people now days try to pursue everything someone else is doing to fit in. We try to follow the people doing the right thing ,but actually were following the wrong crowd.
